As the call for policies that ensure women get equal pay for equal work gets louder, this number cannot be ignored: nearly 2/3 of minimum wage workers in Texas are women. Raising the minimum wage — which has languished at $7.25 since 2009 — would go a long way towards the economic empowerment of Texas women, with women of color — who are vastly overrepresented in low-paying industries — standing to gain the most. Report: Why Abortion Access Is an Economic Issue

A new report released last month by the Reproductive Health Technologies Project clearly outlines an obvious connection too often ignored in the politically-charged discourse surrounding access to comprehensive reproductive health care: abortion access is an economic issue. Reproductive Health Care Advocacy Day at the Capitol

On Thursday, Texas Research Institute—Progress Texas’ research arm—joined Texans from across the state at the State Capitol to call on politicians to support policies that restore trust in Texans to make their own reproductive health care decisions, respect for health care professionals and access to abortion care.

Nuestro Texas: A Reproductive Justice Agenda for Latinos

Last week, the Center for Reproductive Rights and the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health released an excellent policy agenda that outlines forward-looking policies and priorities that the Texas Legislature should enact to "end the current healthcare crisis in Texas and restore access to critical reproductive health care services for millions of Latinas."
